On March 30th at The University of Saint Joseph Bruyette Anthenaeum, Connecticut Office of the Arts presents you with a chance to experience a 1:1 in depth conversation with actor, singer-songwriter and record producer, Mack Wilds. 

 

Rob Markman, of Genius, will moderate the panel and have a discussion with Mack about his career path, how he started and how he's gotten to where he is now. Rob will tap into the good and the bad of Mack's life in the industry to give insight to the audience on how they can maneuver and achieve their goals more effectively. 

 

If you have a passion for music, writing, producing content and acting, this R.E.A.D.I Talk is for you!


The event is free of charge and open to the public.

Meet the Speakers

Mack Wilds - Speaker

 American actor, singer-songwriter, and record producer, Tristan Mack Wilds was born in Staten Island, New York. In 2005, at the age of 15, Tristan made his television debut as AJ in the mini-series Miracle Boys. Wilds is credited as Tristan Wilds as an actor and Mack Wilds as a recording artist. He is known for his roles as Michael Lee on the HBO original drama series, The Wire, and as Dixon Wilson on the CW teen drama series, 90210. He was also featured in the Adele music video for "Hello". When he is not on a television or movie set, he can be found hard at work in a recording studio. His debut album, New York: A Love Story was released on September 30, 2013 and was nominated for the Best Urban Contemporary Album at the Grammy Awards in 2014. His second album was released on April 7, 2017.


Rob Markman - Moderator

Rob Markman is a veteran music journalist, writer and artist, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Markman's work has appeared in print for publications such as Vibe magazine, Complex, The Source and the New York Post. He is a former Deputy Editor of XXL magazine and Senior Hip-Hop Editor at MTV News; Rob currently serves as Genius' Head of Artist Relations.

Throughout his career Rob has conducted several high-profile interviews with music's biggest and most accomplished stars. Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, J. Cole and Jay-Z are just some of the artists that Markman has sat with throughout his career. His work has helped him become a respected expert in music and has led Rob to appear on CNN, Fox and CNBC.
